Poisoned animals in Penang – keep your animals indoors, please

This news has graphic images, so for the faint-hearted, you may not wish to click on it: https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2023/04/05/29-dead-dogs-in-a-month-one-too-many-cry-penang-residents/

According to the report, 29 dogs (free roaming and pets) were found dead within the last one month. Cats and birds were found dead too. From the symptoms observed, these poor animals were most likely poisoned.

Our check with a Penang source confirmed the news. We were told that owners found packets next to their dead pet dogs. But so far, no owner has been able to share CCTV footages.

The report also says that DVS is not able to take action without video evidence.

We checked with another source and was told that besides Island Glades, another area in Penang also had a case of 20 dead dogs.

So, whether you are in Penang or anywhere else, please be extra vigilant with your outdoor animals. Keep your pets indoors.

Let’s hope no further incidence of this kind will happen.
