Imm’s Shelter is currently home to 25 dogs and 15 cats. It is managed by Imm, Judy, their friends and volunteers.

The following is an update on the medical case for the past month, from Judy:
Furry rescues with special needs are mostly cared for in my home to reduce Imm’s workload as she is managing the shelter by herself without daily help.
Jacky in pix is the 6th dog diagnosed with renal failure in the past year. Cindy & Ching passed away in Sep 2022, Kalu in March 2023, Zena and Tooee early last month. They all received palliative care in my home till they passed away.
Jacky’s diagnosis was in mid May this year. He was taken for a blood test when Imm noticed he was not eating much. The blood test report indicated renal failure. Jacky is on renal supplement and getting daily subcutaneous drip. He has grown thinner since his diagnosis as his appetite remains poor. Jacky has adjusted to living in my home and is surviving on lots of love and kindness till he’s ready to leave for Rainbow Bridge.

Below are old photos of Jacky at the shelter with the love of his life, Molly.

So I asked Judy if it would be possible to let Molly come to Judy’s home so that she could spend time with Jacky. That would make a lot of sense. The reason Judy had not done it is that she had been quite overwhelmed with caring for so many CKD dogs in the recent months.
Judy agreed to give it a try to see how Molly would react, and on Tuesday, 18th July, Judy and her friend brought Molly to see Jacky and their reunion was very, very touching.
Molly “kissed” Jacky.
So Judy has decided to let Molly stay with the love of her life now, Jacky!
Together at last…for always.

A good morning kiss!
