Neutering aid for 3 cats in Kulim, Kedah (Norshahana bt Ahmad Shah’s) & Updates

We have provided a full sponsorship of RM342 for the neutering of these 3 cats.

These cats are jointly cared for by Ms Norshahana and her father, En Ahmad Shah bin Kamaruddin. Please see below for the story about these cats. The vet also gave a discount to the total charges.

Updates on previously-claimed cats are also below (these are the ones cared for by Ms Norshahana herself).

Our communication with Ms Norshahana prior to this application:

Salam sejahtera puan..

Adakah pihak organisasi membantu stray cat yg kita  bantu mandulkan kemudian lepaskan kembali? (TNR)
Terima kasih puan
We explained the difference between TNR (trap-neuter-release without managing) and CNRM and informed Ms Norshahana that our funds are only for CNRM and not for TNR (without the management component). So we asked further if she is able to continue managing the cats after they have been neutered. If so, she may apply for our funding. We realise that many people do not know the difference between TNR and CNRM (or TNRM). They use the term loosely. Hence, we sought further clarification from her.
This was her reply:

We explained that from her description, as long as she or her father continues looking after the neutered cats, it is considered CNRM, hence, she is welcome to apply for our aid. We also explained that the ideal and best method for population control is actually returning the neutered cats to the colony to prevent other unneutered ones from entering. Many people, again, misunderstand and think that adopting or rehoming is the best method. Rehoming ensures the animals are safe (provided they go to a good forever home) but it does not help with population control as effectively as Returning-to-Colony. Also, animals normally prefer the outdoor life and to be free roaming, don’t they?

Baik faham puan….

Seekor betina RM140
Jantan RM80 puan
Ms Norshahana comes under our special provision where we allow more than 3 cats per week in order to stabilise her colony as soon as possible. So she is welcome to bring 4 cats at one go.

Baik faham puan.

Terima kasih sudi puan membantu
