We are extremely disturbed to hear some feedback from a kind lady who had earlier asked if we knew of any vet clinic that could board her rescued sporo-cat.
As you know not every clinic can accept boarding for sporo-cats because the disease is zoonotic (it not only speads to other animals but also to humans). But having said that, sporotrichosis is 98% curable. It may look horrendous with all the lesions, but it is curable.
So, it was recently that a clinic was featured on a reliable news portal about its boarding facilities for sporo-cats. The write-up was very impressive too.
Hence, when we were asked about boarding facilities, we mentioned that we had seen this news report about said clinic.
After a few weeks, we followed up and sadly, was told that the cat, who wasn’t even that bad to begin with, is in dire straits now where the number of lesions have increased manifold, the cat has lost a lot of weight and his condition has deteriorated significantly.
The owner is taking the cat to another vet to hopefully, turn things around for the cat.
So, lesson learnt – don’t believe everything that you read in the news. Check reviews – Google reviews are usually quite reliable because only the author can make changes or remove the reviews. Ask those who have used the services for their personal feedback.
Sometimes, it is really near-impossible to get to the truth. In such cases, you’ll just have to be very careful and monitor the situation yourself.
This is also why we don’t recommend any services which we have no control over.
