Nomi’s updates (late night of Day 9)

The caregivers bought the Metrogyl gel this evening and have applied it on Nomi’s wound.

Since the Metrogyl gel is colourless and the iodine is yellow, it is hard to tell if the thickish yellowish liquid in the photo is pus or just the gel mixed with the iodine. We have suggested that the caregiver take a photo tomorrow morning to be sent to the vet before applying any of the medication.

Meanwhile, Ms Yim (a donor and a friend of the aunt of the caregivers who first alerted Ms Yim about Nomi’s breathing difficulties) has offered to take Nomi to the clinic tomorrow if needed.

It does take a village to look after a little kitten, doesn’t it?

We hope Nomi crosses this hurdle triumphantly. This infected wound is one thing, she also still has to heal from the hernia repair.

Ms Yim and I have been helping to monitor both Nomi and Miao’s situation since the day Nomi’s case was brought to us. It’s been more than a week now. We hope both Nomi and Miao will have “uneventful” days ahead; we can certainly do with a good night’s rest!
