We have provided an aid of RM150 for the neutering of this female cat, Little Princess.
This is a joint claim from Mdm Lee Kim Hai and Mdm Pong Yit Sim. I have video-called Mdm Pong already to confirm that she has agreed to let Mdm Lee get all her cats neutered.
Mdm Lee contacted me on 10th June 2024 to inform me that a distant neighbour, Mdm Pong, has 9 cats in her house but has difficulty looking after them because she herself has financial and medical problems. It started with Mdm Pong feeling sorry for a pregnant cat who had sought shelter in her house. She did not have the heart to shoo the cat away, so she allowed the cat to give birth in her house hoping that the cat family would go away after that. But they did not.
So, Mdm Lee decided to help Mdm Pong and explain the importance of neutering to her. Mdm Lee also decided to take the initiative to help her get the cats neutered (before more inbreeding happens) and she will also ensure that the cats are well looked-after by Mdm Pong. We are thus treating this as a joint claim because Mdm Lee will take joint responsibility for the wellbeing of these cats. Mdm Lee has also purchased cat food and cat litter for these cats. There are actually three caregivers for these cats, ie. Mdm Pong (the house-owner), Mdm Lee and Mdm Pong’s nextdoor neighbour. It is nice that there are caring people with the interest to jointly look after them.
The first cat to be neutered is named Little Princess. In her haste, Mdm Lee forgot to instruct the vet to notch the ear. So we explained that we could not give our aid as the ear-notching is compulsory for our aid. Mdm Lee sought advice from the vet and was told the ear-notch could be done after 12 days, so it was done during the removal of stitches for Little Princess.
Mdm Lee says the initial plan is to get as many cats as possible neutered first. She has also taken the kittens for deworming and defleaing. The next step would be to try and find good homes for the cats.
Currently, one grandma cat has escaped from the house when Mdm Lee and friends tried to catch her to put her into a cage. According to Mdm Lee, from the looks of it, this grandma-cat could have got pregnant again.

Kontot’s story:
Kontot escaped by Mdm Lee’s house one day before the removal of stitches could be done. She’s a very skittish and defensive cat, so tried as they did, Mdm Lee and her friends have not succeeded in catching Kontot. The vet said the stitches would fall off by themselves, given time, so that is not a worry. Kontot is currently under the care of a pakcik who has taken up the responsibility of feeding Kontot daily with the cat food provided by Mdm Lee.
Kontot has also reunited with her mother outdoors. The mother has recently given birth to a new litter again but they keep “shifting nests” and they have now moved to live under a water tank.
After her escape, Kontot was hiding under this fixture and food had to be left underneath it and the humans had to move away before Kontot and her mother would eat. Now, they whole family has moved to the water tank area. They are living underneath the tank. The pakcik feeds them daily.
Fat Girl’s story:
Fat Girl was rescued by Mdm Lee months ago when she was badly injured on the road. The medical claim for this will be done after Fat Girl is eventually neutered. Mdm Lee had to seek the help of an experienced paid fosterer to look after Fat Girl during recuperation. Fat Girl was very well looked-after and has recovered completely. Mdm Lee claimed for Fat Girl’s first vaccination and will be claiming for the second vaccination as well as the neutering. After neutering, the current fosterer will adopt Fat Girl.
Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get photos and videos of Fat Girl because the fosterer is very unwilling to share photos and videos. She has asked Mdm Lee to take back Fat Girl if any photos and videos are still required. I have asked Mdm Lee to take photos when she takes Fat Girl to the vet for the second vaccination and the neutering later.
