Neutering aid for 1 cat in Kulai, Johor (Lee Kim Hai’s) & Updates

We have provided a full sponsorship of RM150 for the neutering of this female cat, Fat Girl.

Fat Girl was rescued by Mdm Lee when she was very young and found to have a severe hip injury. Surgery was performed on Fat Girl and it was successful (we will be providing a medical aid for this as soon as we receive the claim too). Details about this will be published later.  Fat Girl was fostered by a friend, who is an experienced cat caregiver. The fosterer has agreed to adopt Fat Girl after 2 vaccinations and her neutering (all paid for by Mdm Lee where she also claimed from our funds).

Updates on Mdm Lee’s previous claims are below.

More details about Sun Sun, provided below by Mdm Lee:

22/6/24 Spaying
25/6/24 Mastitis
30/6/24. Open wound dressing
3/7/24 Totally no appetite
4/7/24. FPV(一)
9/7/24 Totally no appetite, admitted to vet until now.

According to the many, many voicemails sent by Mdm Lee, three days after spaying, Sun Sun developed mastitis.  The vet said it could be due to her milk ducts being not completely dried up yet and the initial prognosis was good. Sun Sun was hospitalised and given medication for her symptoms. Sun Sun was later discharged, but even while on the e-collar, she managed to bite the e-collar off and bit off the sutures of her neutering site, so she had to be to sent back for re-suturing.

Three days later, Sun Sun had totally no appetite and Mdm Lee took her to see the vet again. Sun Sun was tested negative for parvovirus. According to Mdm Lee, her appetite would fluctuate from very good to very bad and even when she was eating well, there was no weight gain at all; her weight remained at 2.4kg.

Five days later, Sun Sun lost her appetite again, had ataxia (Mdm Lee described it as walking like a drunkard) and fever. Mdm Lee took her to the vet’s again. This time the vet advised for a blood test. Sun Sun is admitted.

Mdm Lee said the vet had initially tried to help her save money by just giving Sun Sun medication, but that did not work.

We have advised Mdm Lee that the blood test would be very helpful and we hope she will give Sun Sun the medical treatment that is necessary to get her well again. Her condtion could be due to some underlying medical problems which could not be detected earlier.

The latest updates: Sun Sun’s breathing is not good. A FCoV test has been done and X-Rays taken.

We sympathise with Mdm Lee as she has this community of caregivers who are not even willing to buy cat food or cat litter for their cats. So, Mdm Lee takes it upon herself to provide cat food, cat litter and the necessary supplies for all these cats. She also provides transportation to the vet’s and pays for defleaing, deworming, vaccinations, neutering and medical treatment.
