Thank you so much, Pastorale Conservatoire of Music!

This afternoon, Pastorale Conservatoire of Music organised a Violin Recital featuring their very own former student, Mr Andrew Ng, who studied the violin at Pastorale from the age of 8 until 18.

These are his remarkable achievements thus far:

Malaysian-born violinist Andrew Ng Wen Hao is one of South-East Asia’s up and coming young talents of his generation. Recent seasons have seen him performing in festivals and concerts around the world: Festival Bled in Slovenia, the Verbier Festival, Switzerland and the New Virtuosi International Violin Masterclass on tour in Italy, to name a few.

Eager to expand his knowledge and skill, Andrew has taken masterclasses from many distinguished instructors, including David Takeno, Ani Schnarch and Masaaki Suzuki. Besides that, he enjoys close collaboration with chamber music ensembles, the Juilliard Quartet, Belcea Quartet, and the Red Priest Baroque Group, all who have given Andrew coaching and mentoring.

After graduating from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore and the Sibelius Academy in Finland, Andrew Ng is currently based in Finland, holding the position of 1st violin principal in the Lahti Symphony Orchestra. He currently plays a 1777 Nicolo Gagliano violin on loan from the orchestra.

Pastorale very graciously did some fundraising for us too!

The donations are coming in now and we thank Ms Yim Soi Chee, the principal of the school, staff and students of Pastorale Conservatoire of Music and the attendees of the recital very, very much for their kindness and generosity.
