Neutering aid for 2 dogs in Shah Alam (Lau Mei Fong’s) & Updates

We have provided an aid of RM400 for the neutering of these 2 females dogs, Snow and Cocoa.

We also provided our vaccination aid for Snow, Cocoa, Brownie and Chocolate (all from the same colony at the warehouse). All four were captured with the help of a dartsman and sent for neutering. But Brownie and Chocolate were discovered to be pregnant during the procedure so as per policy, we could not provide any aid for them. Initially JoTong did offer to share her methods of capture with Ms Lau, but it was difficult to implement for the dogs. Hence, Ms Lau opted for the dartsman.

Ms Lau does her CNRM work with Mr Suparamaniam a/l Suppiah (Uncle Maniam). This was her first email to us:

My name is Juliette and Chinese name is Lau Mei Fong , I work as a Human Resource personnel and my office is in Shah Alam. I am truly an animal lover and believe strongly in neutering domestic animals.  In my own capacity, I try to feed stray dogs and do my part in neutering cats and dogs if i am able to catch the. I am also trying to play my part in our community to  try and reduce the stray population in the area where i live and work. I’m not sure if you know Shah Alam well, it is a very industrial area with lots of trailers passing through these warehouses.  I do see many strays dogs around this area. I know if we don’t try to help and neuter these stray dogs,  there will be too many unwanted puppies that we are unable to find homes for them . I also know that they will have limited chances of survival and may also caused accidents , like being run over. The way forward is to curb this and try to reduce the population of stray dogs. If i can do just a little bit on my part in this area and perhaps with other rescuers like me, we can slowly and surely reduce issue of these strays.
For me, I am an independent rescuer, I have neutered both male/female dogs that came into my work compound or housing area . I am not associated to any  NGO or programs. I’m on my own and only do this if it is within my means and sustainability . Otherwise, i would walk away if I’m not able to provide long term solution. I’m also lucky along my path i find genuine people to assist me voluntarily and most of the time, these are the people that don’t have much to give but compassion for animals.
I started feeding strays whenever i come across  and during MCO , I felt even more compelled to help this helpless animals.
Just a few months ago, whilst driving home from work,  I saw about  8/9 dogs in an abandon warehouse near my work place. I started to feed them with the help of the security guards that look after the warehouse. They have been feeding these dogs with whatever leftovers they have from the “mamak” shop nearby. One of them did reach out to me if i could help them with food for the dogs.
I can see these security guys are decent, i also sense that they feel sorry for dogs and this old uncle (Uncle Maniam) will give food to them in the compound if it is only rice. i took on this project and decided to help and sponsor every month a  15kg  kibbles. They will give food to them on week ends or  if  I’m away and unable to come to the warehouse. I would informed them in advance so that we have this mutual arrangement.
I have been doing this for a few months and I would like to neuter these colony of stray dogs because:-
1. i have feeders that can help me take care of them
2. these dogs have some sort of shelter as the security guards do not chase them away
3. if I can, I would like to stop them from breeding
4. I know i cannot afford to feed them if they keep multiplying
5. I must get them fixed and maintain the numbers and not let it go out of control
6. I can then sustain these pack with the  help of the security guard to give food
7. These dogs have a fair chance of survival with the help of human beings
I feel that if I am able to get some sort of funding/ assistance, I am able to get these 8/9 dogs fixed to prevent further breeding.
Hence, I am writing in to you to see if i qualify to get some financial support.
I ‘m willing to provide them with basic care, food , medical assistance as and when is required.
I have attached some pictures of these dogs and a video for you to review to see if my case warrant for this assistance .
I can be contactable at <hp number removed> should you wish to interview me or speak to me.
I hope you will look into my case and feel free to ask me any questions . If you need further pictures or document please let me know.
Many thanks.
Regards,

Juliette
