Simba takes his first bite, Is Mortzy in heat?

Here are some updates from Joy:

Little Simba took his first bite today! Both of the kittens already have teeth.

Joy bought a solar fan for Mortzy and family as the weather is so hot now.

An unneutered skittish tomcat comes to Joy’s porch for meals every day. He is difficult to catch. Because he is unneutered, it is likely that his presence has caused Mortzy to come into heat. Joy calls him “Blue Collar”.

Mortzy has been yowling whenever he is around.

Once the kittens are weaned off from breastmilk and Mortzy’s milk ducts dry up, she can already be spayed. Meanwhile, she must not escape! Joy has placed extra pegs to secure the cage door.
