We have provided a full sponsorship of RM120 for the first vaccinations of these 4 cats.
Puan BB Aminah Yahaya is a new applicant, but she first wrote to me on 19th February this year to enquire about our neutering aid. However, Pn Aminah has been a loyal follower on Facebook for many, many years.
She has two mother-cats as mentioned in the write-up below and her daughter and she have already got both mother-cats spayed. She will be getting all the other cats vaccinated and neutered to stop further breeding.
This is her colony of 13 cats:
In March 2024, we rescued 4 kittens from the drain behind our house. It was the rainy season then and we were worried they will be swept away. We know which is the mother cat as we have been feeding her. From that day the mother cat and her 4 kittens (2 males & 2 females – Lennon, Hook, Cleo & Minnie) comes into our side porch near the kitchen for meals and gradually stay in our porch. The mother cat abandoned the kittens about a month after that and was never seen anywhere in our streets. Last year both the females gave birth to 4 each, so a total of 12 cats from that family. About the same time a stray kitten also appeared in our porch asking for food, making it a total of 13 cats.
We thought that these cats when they grow up into adults would wander off but all of them continued staying around our house, maybe because they feel secure and are well fed.
Other than feeding them, we also take them to the clinic when they are not well and at one time when 1 of the adult male cat was covered in glue we had to keep him in a cage for a month to keep rubbing baby oil on him to remove the glue (we took him to a vet and was told to remove the glue that way). When the 2 females were pregnant we gave them multi vitamins to boost them up to prepare for delivery and nursing(they were really small sized).
I know it’s time to get them neutered now. Feeding these extra 13 cats is already an added expenses and we would appreciate any aid if possible to neuter them.
