Delivered today! That’s Lennon who has just come back from the vet’s after neutering. A message from Puan BB Aminah: We have received the food. Thanks again from all the cats and my family.
Puan BB Aminah Yahaya bt Abdullah is a homemaker in her early sixties and her husband is a hawker. They live in Cheras are currently looking after 15 cats; 4 were former street cats adopted into their home many years back and 11 are living in her porch with the freedom to roam. Her 4 indoor cats are all males and have already been previously neutered without the ear-notch. She recently got the 2 female cats neutered with her own funds (ear-notched) and then she applied for our Neutering Aid Package (neutering and first vaccination) for the other 8 cats. Only one elusive male, Lennon, has been evading capture, but Puan Aminah has finally managed to catch him for vaccination and neutering. He was just done today!
So, in short, Puan Aminah is looking after 15 cats and all have already been neutered and vaccinated. She takes her cats for medical treatment when they fall ill and the two recent cases are Minico who received treatment for fever and diarrhea in April 2025 and  Cleo & Hook for mouth ulcers in July 2024. She also currently has a CKD cat indoors who is on Azodyl and given subcut fluids and kidney supplements.
From Puan Aminah:
I have 4 male cats indoor and a family of 11 cats living in the porch. The indoors cats are all male and neutered and vaccinated. They are Chow Chow (9 years old), Tae Yeung (8 years old), EB (7 years old) and Woo (3 years old). All rescued previously.
At present there are only 11 cats living in my porch. The 2 males Hook (sibling of Lennon, Cleo & Minnie) and another younger male, Nyet Nyet no longer come back and haven’t been sighted around our neighbourhood for nearly a month. So I now only take care of and feed 11 cats in the porch. 10 had been vaccinated and neutered. The girls (Ginger, Jasmine, Lily & Minico) will be going for their 2nd vaccination on Wednesday and I hope to be able to bring Lennon along for his 1st vaccination before neutering him (and he has been given his vaccination and is already neutered now).
We feed our indoor cats and porch cats wet food (Snappy Tom/Smart Heart /Pro Diet), kibbles (Smart Heart), steam fish (tongkol as they are meaty), steam chicken breast and occasionally lightly fried sardines. The porch cats are also fed raw chicken and beef once a week. Only 1 indoor cat (the one with CKD) eats raw meat. This CKD cat, EB, is also on Azodyl for his kidney condition. He also gets sub q 200ml daily, 1 Azodyl daily (by right according to weight should be twice daily) and Kidney Support Gold once daily. EB was rescued in the middle of Jln Cheras in front of the old badminton hall. We got down from our motorcycle to catch him, husband catch while I stopped all the cars.
I had 2 other CKD cats previously too. Both passed away end of 2023 within a month plus apart. The 17 year old and a 3 year old. The 17 year old was on Kidney Support Gold. I got it after I read about it from your blog and it helped her to be comfortable without much issues. She survived 2 years plus after diagnosed. The 3 year old died after a month plus after diagnosed. Doctor prescribed her with Candioli Renal Combi, Semintra and daily sub q. Also epo injections. This was my most heart wrecking loss.
When Chow Chow (now 9 years old) was first rescued in July 2016, he had serious injuries (either from a fight or an accident). We took him to UPM for treatment and he recovered. He had a fracture on his skull and his eyes are sensitive until now.
Woo was born in the house opposite mine. His mother was blind and he had a calico sibling. The neighbour passed them to my daughter and said he doesn’t know what to do with them. My daughter took them to her office (landed double storey with land). Her office too feed some strays that go there. Few days later the mother and the calico went missing. She had to bottle feed Woo and stayed back late to ensure he was fed. So I told her to bring Woo home.
Tae Yeung was a stray that came to her office and she later had to bring him home as TY had a habit of peeing at inappropriate places and some colleagues were not happy.
Each cat has a story.
We are using our own money to buy food for the cats. Both indoor and porch cats get the same food. We might not be feeding them good quality kibbles and wet food as we feed them according to what we can afford. As long as every cat get food everyday. Indoor cat get 3 meals a day and kibbles in between. Porch cats get 2 meals a day with kibbles throughout the day.
We have a car which my husband uses when he goes ‘berniaga’. That’s why I need to wait when the car is available and when he or my daughter can drive me. For 1 cat we take the bike as the clinic is not far away. At times I grab.
I am genuinely touched by your kind offer and would be more than happy to accept it as a treat for the porch cats. I will need to take latest photos that show more of the porch cats. This might need time as since being neutered they come back at different time for meals and go out more often. Lennon also spend less time at home since all the females are neutered.
Here are some photos of Puan Aminah’s Backstreet Bandits:

Lennon, finally caught on 13/5/25, for vaccination and the neutering was done today. So, Puan Aminah’s Backstreet Bandits are 100% vaccinated and neutered now!
This is a cute photo taken last month. It explains why Lennon is called “Lennon” (hint: the hair style!).
This is Puan BB Aminah Yahaya.
