Medical aid for 1 cat in Puchong (Liew Foung Khung’s)

We have provided a full sponsorship of RM115 for the post-neutering medical treatment of this cat, Xiao Ji.

Xiao Ji was neutered on 13th May 2025 under our full sponsorship. Ms Liew monitored her wound daily as Xiao Ji was kept indoors for 5 days and all was well. Xiao Ji was released back to her colony and Ms Liew was away for about a week to attend to a family emergency. Upon her return, Xiao Ji still appeared to be alright and was eating well. Then, yesterday, Ms Liew discovered an infected wound at the exact spot of Xiao Ji’s spay site. She quickly took Xiao Ji to another vet nearby. The wound had pus inside it. Treatment was administered and medication prescribed. Xiao Ji is now recuperating indoors.

The rest of the details are below. The vet who did the spay surgery thinks it could be an allergy to the suture material. This is quite rare that such allergies can happen, and only discovered 2 weeks after the surgery. But these things can happen. There are various risks involved in any surgery or treatment, so caution and meticulous monitoring are required.

We also sought our vet-friend’s opinion on this. Based on the photos and the time line, her professional opinion is that the wound could have been caused by Xiao Ji picking on it post-surgery and the deeper internal stitches came undone. This explains the presence of the “long thread”. Whatever the cause, we hope Xiao Ji recovers completely and speedily.

We checked with Ms Liew this morning and Xiao Ji has an appetite and is eating on her own. This is good news. Ms Liew will be taking Xiao Ji and Pumama back to the vet who did the spay surgery for a check-up today and we shall know more then.

We wish Xiao Ji a speedy and complete recovery.
