Thank you very much (May 2025 donors)

It’s our 16 years’ anniversary today. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported our cause for all these years. Without your kind, generous and committed support, there would have been no AnimalCare.

We also hope to receive more applications for the neutering of street animals because this really is the most compassionate way to control the street animal population.

As we look back to the day we started, 16 years ago, we cannot really say that much has changed. For one, the council by-laws have not changed at all. Catch-and-kill is still legal and is still being practised because no politician is interested in getting it changed to more humane and compassionate ways to manage the street animals, ie. neutering. Animal lovers, especially defenders of street animals, are still a very small minority in every community.

However, there is definitely more awareness nowadays, so we can only hope that with more awareness comes more positive action and concerted efforts to help street animals lead better and safer lives. For every street animal neutered, thousands are prevented from being born to suffer on the streets. For every street animal rehomed to a loving forever home, you have indeed changed the entire world for that one animal.

So, neuter, neuter, neuter, please. Rehome, if you can, but if you cannot, it is okay. Continue looking after them where they are. You are already doing your best for them.
