Tong Yut Fun (JoTong) takes turns with another feeder to feed about 176 street dogs in the Balakong area. Every dog that they can catch is neutered, most of them returned to colony (unless the dog has special needs) and managed for life with dedication and commitment. The younger puppies are rehomed, adult dogs with special needs are either rehomed or relocated to spaces which are safer for them and sick dogs are given medical treatment. Collectively, they have got 75 dogs neutered on their own previously and under our aid, 187 animals (mostly dogs and a few cats). JoTong continues to get street dogs vaccinated and neutered now, sometimes sponsored by friends. The work doesn’t end.

Lately, there has been a colony of 11 young puppies. One mother-dog had passed away and another has a bad leg injury and is now being treated at the clinic. Due to this injury, the mother-dog had not been able to provide enough milk for her puppies. JoTong managed to get meat dust from a neighbour on a regular basis and she cooks this with rice for the puppies. The weather has been extremely hot as well and she has to ensure there is sufficient water supply for all the dogs.

JoTong is also currently focusing on persuading factory operators to let her take their dogs for neutering. It would be good if the operators are willing to chip in for the vet fees and boarding as Jo is already providing the transportation for the dogs.

We offer our food aid to this large colony of street dogs under JoTong’s care because of her exemplary CNRM work where the dogs are fed responsibly with proper daily clean-up, neutered, given veterinary care and supplements, rehomed where possible and the return-to-colony ones are managed for life with love.

Here are some latest photos of JoTong with the dogs. She really goes to extraordinary lengths to ensure every single dog is fed and no dog is left hungry.
