Our Bomba’s K9 heroes

Our Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia has successfully bred their very first K9 puppy named Brave.

We are comforted that the dogs are loved and well-looked after. Usually they will do active work until the age of 8-10 years but some continue working until 16 years too. And we are also very relieved to hear that the retired dogs will be looked after until the end of their lives even though they can no longer work (“memang kita akan jaga walaupun mereka tidak boleh bekerja, sehingga akhir hayat”).  

Hopefully, China will develop robot-dogs that can do all this work and one day, humans will not have to use real-life dogs for search and rescue anymore!
