The vet just informed me that the dog passed away last night, one hour after the blood results came back. His blood count was 9.1. A normal reading is 44, and any reading below 12 cannot sustain life anymore. The vet said the dog could not have possibly got into this condition overnight. It must have been a gradual deterioration.
The rescuer, Shirley, called me last Saturday (4th Feb) to seek assistance and I had already told her we would subsidise and to please take the dog to the vet as soon as possible. Nothing was done until yesterday (12th Feb). It was too late to save the poor dog. I even told her to rush to emergency on 11th Feb night when she called, but this was not done.
May the dog be in a better existence now.
We urge all rescuers to PLEASE not delay medical treatment if rescuing is what they wish to do. It is almost unfair that an injured animal is taken off the streets, but nothing is done for it. The animal would be totally at our mercy, and if we do not have the urgency to do the needful for the animal, why take it off the streets in the first place? Why deprive it from being rescued by another rescuer who has the resources to do more for it?
I am so sad, because this is such a wasted cause.

If the dog could be taken to the clinic on the 12th, dont see the reason why it could not be taken on the 4th or even 5th. Delaying kills. Strange people. RIP doggy
I agree with what you said Kah Yein. Our pet animals are dependent on us to do the necessary when they fall sick. It is better to seek help/advice earlier for the animals than later, for by then it may be too late like in this case. Despite your good advice, the rescuer did not do follow it. So sad. But I am sure the Doggy will by now be in the Astral Heavens where there is no suffering. Om.
Absolutely — a life that was taken away by, ooh, I do not have the right words.
Why bother to call and ask for help, and not doing anything about it? All the wasted time, going back and forth, back and forth on JUST which vet to go.
So much wasted time … that caused the dog’s death, and KY, your precious time that could have been spent on something else such as Daisy.
Yesterday When I had time to read the posts, I wanted to fly over to Malaysia and shake that woman. I do not want to sound unkind, but I hope Shirley learned a VERY IMPORTANT lesson.
RIP for the dog that was at the wrong place, wrong time and crossed Shirley’s path. I am sorry Shirley that I am sounding so mean, but I am really xxxxxx-off. 8 days of pure suffering for the dog. And wonder how many days before the 4 of Feb.
