The Blueys – spayed on Monday and doing well! (Andy Lew’s)

Blueys news is always happy news, isn’t it?

Well, the Blueys were spayed on Monday and they boarded a night at the vet’s too. Andy brought them to a clinic near his place and apparently, the rate is only RM180 for each spaying and it includes one night’s boarding (that’s really good, right?). This vet uses the flank (side) method and also provides the e-collar.

Some vets do not use the e-collar as it stresses the animal, but some do. In one case sponsored by us, the cat bit the stitches off and had to be re-stitched. So, I suppose the e-collar does help in cases of “biters”. We would just have to watch and observe the animal.

Here…..are the photos of our lovely girls in their e-collars, after coming back home to Andy’s place.

Aww…that’s Baggy. Doesn’t she look at Little Bo Peep in a bonnet?

Andy came to visit today, and told me all about the first night after coming home. Even at the vet’s, the two girls were hissing like crazy at each other and the vet had to lent Andy an extra separate carrier to take them back.

Back home, Andy confined him in the shower area and they were quite okay.

But not for long, because Baggy could push open the swing-door of the shower screen and escape! She escaped so many times that Andy had to latch the bathroom door as well. Baloo stayed where she was. She’s the good girl.

I’m the good one. I don’t do escapes.

Andy asked if the e-collar could be taken off now, and I said it can be since it has already been 4 days. The stitches should be dry and almost healed by now, too. Andy said the girls found the e-collar so uncomfortable and started scratching it. Poor things…

But they were already jumping onto places on the next day.

Yes, that’s the benefit of youth and good health – quick recovery from any surgery.

I remember Tabs was up and about the very next day after being spayed. Hers was flank as well.

Young cats recover very fast.

I’m sure the Blueys will be up and about very soon. Or, they already are?!!
