Mimi to the rescue!!

My friend, Su, called me on Wednesday.  She had a kitten emergency.  She had just rescued two newborn kittens (probably orphaned) and she needed a mother-cat.  I gave her Rani’s hp since I know Rani has two mother-cats.

I was so busy on Wednesday, I did not call Su to follow-up until yesterday.

During my lunch break, I called Su and asked if everything was okay.  Su said she couldn’t get Rani.  There was no reply.

Oh dear….

So, I called and got Rani on the phone.  Rani says she has got one mother-cat adopted and the other spayed so there’s no more milk now.

Oh, oh….

Then, I suddenly remembered Mimi, CP’s mother-cat, who had just lost all her babies in the thunderstorm.  CP has been emailing me telling me how sad Mimi has been, always looking inside the drains and flower-pots, looking for her kittens.

So, I connected Su and CP.  I knew Su would know what to do.  She’s very experienced with cats.

CP is really new with cats, but she is learning REAL fast…because she’s got the heart!  We just got Mimi’s “partner” Didi neutered last week and we were going to do Mimi this week.  Ref: http://animalcare.my/2011/03/didi-escape-artist-neutered-today.html  CP says she and her sons have been learning about cat-care from my books.

Here’s updates from CP this morning:

Good morning Sis Kahyein

MiMi has gone to live with Su’s kittens. Su came yesterday with the 2 tiny kittens but MiMi rejected the kittens. However, Su and her maid are good in handling cats/kittens so they managed to get some milk out of MiMi for the kittens. I heard Su telling her maid one of the kitten is not doing well – Hope both the kittens pull through and may they be Well & safe.

Su observed the following:-

DiDi might not be MiMi’s partner but could be her sibling.

MiMi has a lump at her neck area (she’s taking MiMi to the vet for a check this morning and will update me on her status – bless her).

Both MiMi and DiDi could be less than a year old (I forgot to ask Dr for DiDi’s age – she told me she will check his teeth during the op, but I forgot to ask upon collection of DiDi).

Anyway, DiDi came looking for MiMi last night after Su left. This is the first time DiDi try to step into my living hall – it used to be MiMi who’s always trying to step into my living hall but she knows her limits – up to my sliding door and she can’t walk further in  coz I will stop her. This morning DiDi came with another partner – my younger boy calls her Manja – she’s been around my house for a while but she never comes through my gate. Last night she boldly walks in to my porch and Su told me to catch her and send her for spaying hahaha… and she observed too that Manja could be MiMi and DiDi’s sibling. Wow! I learnt so much from Su’s visit. Thank you for connecting us.

Su told me that she will keep MiMi at her place until the kittens could open their eyes. I’ve discussed with her on spaying MiMi and she has agreed that once MiMi is off breast-feeding she will inform me to make an appt with the vet and she’ll take her direct to the vet. I will then collect her after the op. Will keep u posted on the arrangement.

CP

This is great!  Sometimes AnimalCare acts as a “bridge”.  Just a “bridge” to connect two parties with the same heart – to help the animals.

I hope the kittens will survive.  Also, I hope Mimi will come to regard these kittens as her own and maybe it will help her forget her own loss.  CP says she has been so, so depressed ever since that thunderstorm where all my kittens went missing.

Pray, friends, pray….
