I haven’t had time to update all of you on Imm’s Shelter because I’ve been running around with quite a number of cat and dog cases, making tshirt deliveries, replying emails and I’m even writing a new book (but it’s not about animals this time).
Everything’s looking up for Imm and her dogs. The donations have been generous – thank you so, so much! Volunteers from Ipoh have been going in to help out too. However, the adoptions have not happened yet. We are still not sure how to get this going since we are so far away.
A piece of sad news, though, Bobbie, Imm’s old dog, passed away at the vet’s. He was already ailing quite badly, so it was probably time to move on to a better place. We wish him a happier existence now.
KitKat is still coping with the tumour in the ear and Judy is doing her best to nurse him.

Just a quick note to say a BIG TERIMA KASIH to you, Rafi and Tiha for your help at the shelter yesterday. It was a delight to meet you & your family. Rafi did such an amazing job with his grass cutter, I’m inclined to nick-name him “Rambo”. And the additional pairs of hands certainly cut down the cleaning time esp’ly for me in the cattery.
You and Tiha chatting with the dogs was a heart warming sight. And you’re so right, there is a need to change wrong perceptions. Whilst Malays in general keep away from dogs, the Chinese too are equally not fond of cats. I too was one such Chinese more than a decade ago. My change came about because of Imm. Her rescue work for distressed kittens and cats finally got to me. And so, to change the world, we def’ly have to be the change.
Do stay in touch and we look fwd to seeing you all again next month.

Too bad Judy doesn’t take photos so we don’t have any, but never mind….I can already visualise the happy scene at Imm’s Shelter now….!
