PetFinder.my – A Loving Home For Every Pet
PetFinder.my is Malaysia’s leading pet adoption portal, with a strong emphasis on finding homes for stray, abandoned and abused animals.
Established in April 2008, PetFinder.my harnesses the Internet and social media to generate increased exposure for homeless animals, and to provide an effective collaborative infrastructure for animal lovers, rescuers and shelters. To date, PetFinder.my has successfully helped rehome over 4,800 animals, with 1,700 animals currently awaiting adoption – that includes dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, birds, fishes and even turtles and chickens.
Besides pet adoption, PetFinder.my also provides exposure for Lost & Found pets through both their website and mobile network. The owner can post up the lost pet’s information, mark its location on the Visual Map, and refer to the guidelines on how best to proceed in searching for the animal. If a microchipped animal is found, the person can look up PetFinder.my’s Central Microchip Database to locate its rightful owner.
PetFinder.my has also launched an Apple iPhone application and a mobile-optimized website for Smartphones like BlackBerry, HTC, Samsung Omnia and Sony Xperia. This facility enables mobile users to conveniently search for pets of interest, as well as utilizes GPS to scan nearby areas for available adoptions and reported lost pets.
