This morning, I brought Bunny, one of my rescued cats, for a check-up as he was having fever and had not eaten for one day. While at the vet’s, I met Mas who had brought Clariss in for removal of the steel stitches from her jaw.
Clariss was rescued in May 2009, a hit-and-run victim at the marketplace. When she was brought in, Clariss was in a pool of blood, and a quick examination revealed a cracked skull, a broken jaw and internal haemorrhage. She was treated for two weeks at the vet’s under our sponsorship and the surgery was successful, but the steel stitches in the jaw had to be left intact for two months before they could be removed.
Clariss, in May 2009.
At that time, the vet said she might have a permanent disfigurement of the face due to the broken jaw and cracked skull, but it was already quite a miracle that she survived and healed.
Take a look at Clariss now…
As pretty as ever, won’t you say?
We’re really glad Clariss is well and healthy now.
Kudos to Mas for nursing Clariss back to health.

Yes! Gorgeous! I love these before/after photos.
If more people could see photos like these, they would perhaps start to see the potential for great beauty in a bedraggled stray who only needs some love, good care and good nutrition… 🙂
