I dropped in to visit Clariss, and according to the vet, she is responding to the treatment. Her urine is also clear now, which indicates that she is probably no longer jaundiced. She is also not pale.
Here’s the brave little girl.
I was initially worried my presence might stress her as I am a stranger to her, but she seemed very comfortable, and even purred and mewed when I stroked her. She even got up and came closer towards me.
The vet said that there was definitely swelling in the brain when she was first brought in due to the severe crack in the skull, but Clariss was given very heavy steroids to control the swelling and it looks like her mental faculties are alright now. Her mannerisms appear to be very normal. While I was there, she kept wanting to come out of the cage.
She mewed quite a bit, so I thought she might be hungry and so we placed some AD in a dish for her. She came excitedly towards the dish, sniffed at the food, but did not eat. I coaxed her for a few times, but each time, she would only sniff at the food. The vet said she might be fearful of eating due to the pain in the jaw, so this fear would have to be overcome gradually.
Later, the vet force-fed her with a syringe, and she ate up every bit of food very willingly.
Here is Clariss, after her meal. I think she is quite tired of being caged up, so here she is, outside the cage, for a little while.
The next step we are looking for now is that she will eat on her own. If she continues responding well to the treatment, the vet anticipates that she can be discharged in a few days’ time.
It’s quite remarkable what resilient creatures cats are. From the feeble condition she was in this morning (as reported by Mas), she has turned around and is much more perky now, in just a few hours.

Clariss, a hit-and-run victim, would definitely have died without the immediate response to provide care, treatment and support.

She had been left rolling around, unsuccessfully trying to get up on her feet, profusely bleeding right in the middle of the road, in danger of being run over by the next passing car.
Thank God the next car that came along slowed down and stopped, blocking the rest of the cars behind.
And her miraculously fast recovery would have not been possible without so much kindness from those who do care for the unfortunate, unwanted and abandoned creations of God.
