Medical subsidy for 2 distemper pups (Lydia Lim on behalf of Kim Fho)

We have subsidised RM81 for the treatment of these two pups. Sadly, one has passed on.

From Lydia, who is applying on behalf of Kim Fho:

I would like to apply to Animal Care for the medical subsidy for the testing and treatment of positive distemper in 2 puppies.

These 2 puppies are under the care of Kim Fho.

Kim picked up these 2 puppies along the street where she passes on her way home. They were born in a litter of 4 and the mother dog is a stray who is mange-ridden and has been producing litter after litter. This particular litter was born about 3months ago and there were quite a few occasions of heavy rain and the mother dog did not move her pups to safety and instead 2 of them fell into the drain just a few steps from where they were living and hiding in a small clump of bushes and pandan plants.

When Kim realised that the remaining two pups were in danger of drowning, she took them off the streets and has been caring for them for about a month. Last week they started showing signs of illness and were tested positive for distemper.

Kim will not give up on them and luckily they are eating but still very weak. You can see from the photos that their eyes have also been affected and they can barely open their eyes.
