While I was at the vet’s today to see to the two cats that Ken Chiang had brought in, a very nice elderly lady walked into the clinic.
Mrs Tan (that was her name) wanted to find out what she should do for a stray cat who had wandered into her house compound and had sort of decided to live with her. So I took the opportunity to tell her about spaying-neutering, which she already knew, and she had actually come to find out the cost of getting it done.
I offered to get it done for her under our sponsorship since the cat is a stray, and she was very grateful. But she wanted to know what else needs to be done for the cat’s health, so I told her about vaccinations, etc. She also wanted to know what she should feed the cat as she is now feeding her rice with fish.
Mrs Tan will bring in the cat tomorrow to be spayed by our panel vet. I also told her about fasting the cat for 8 hours prior to the surgery.
After she left, Rani remarked what a nice lady Mrs Tan is. Some owners don’t even do this much for their pets.
There are definitely still many good people around.
And it is so nice to meet one….

You mean Teddybear's? Yes, I cleaned it yesterday. It was waxy! Thank you.
