Spay-Neuter subsidy for two cats (Lisa Teo Yoke Ching’s)

We have fully sponsored the neutering of 1 male cat and subsidised the spaying of 1 female cat, from Lisa Teo. Our total subsidy is RM200.

From Lisa:

Dear Dr. Chan,
I would like to apply for a subsidy for spaying and neutering stray cats. Attached, please find photos of one male and one female strays that had been neutered and spayed by the vet on 05 Sep 2012.
Your kind consideration and assistance is very much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance.
Yours sincerely,
Lisa Teo

Lisa’s work in helping street animals in Putra Heights:

My involvement with strays began 5 years ago when I stopped work to look after my children. The very first stray kitten came in my husband’s car engine all the way from Taman Melawati where he works. Since then, comes the never ending story. My daughter, son and I have been rescuing and caring for strays around our neighbourhood since.
We used to send them to DBKL in Setapak for spaying and neutering as the charges is the cheapest. We will normally bring a few of them during the weekend every few months. It was fine then. Over the years, I have started feeding the strays at the back and in front of my house. We would try to ‘catch’ them and spay or neuter them. The problem is, if there is one that is left out, they will keep multiplying. Nevertheless, we still tried our level best to keep everything under control.
Well, as long as you feed them, they will keep coming. I have been told to stop feeing them but the thought of them starving and running down by a vehicle while looikng for food terrifies me. So I kept on feeding and caring for them. At present, I am feeding almost 20 cats in front and at the back of my house on top of 4 that we have adopted.
