Medical subsidy for a male dog with TVT, Scruffy (Eileen Ng Ai Ling’s)

We have subsidised RM267.50 for the treatment of Scruffy who was afflicted with TVT. The treatment costs includes medication, blood tests, a heartworm test and six TVT jabs. The vet confirmed that these tests were necessary because of Scruffy’s age (estimated to be more than 10 years old).

hi Dr Chan
I would like to request for medical subsidy for an old dog, Scruffy, for his TVT treatment.
Scruffy was rescued from a workshop in Sungai Buloh early July. According to the workers, he has stayed there for 12 years since a puppy. He roams on the streets and will go back to the workshop to sleep and rest. I saw him one night waiting outside the gate of the workshop, hair all dirty and matted up. I felt very sorry for him and returned to the place a few days later to get him.
His hair has been cut short to get rid of all the dirty fur. He was scratching very badly when he first came but has improved now.. He is currently being fostered by a friend of mine. He is extremely good natured and overall healthy despite his age. However a few days after his rescue, i noticed blood dripping from his penis. A check at the vet found the tumor at the base of his penis. After a blood test comfirmed all is fine, we started his TVT jabs. The pictures above showed Scruffy at the workshop and after his rescue, as well as his tumor before treatment and after two jabs. He may need another 2-3 more jabs, depending on the rate of his recovery. He is also on antibiotic for 3 weeks.
I haven’t got the bill yet. If you approve this, I will let u know once i get the bill and then proceed to mail the form and receipt to you.

thanks n cheers
Eileen

hi Dr Chan
Scruffy finally completed 6 TVT jabs. last week he went for his finally check up and given a clear bill. Attached is a photo of him looking as scruffy and happy as ever despite his age. His medical bill totalled $535 which includes 6 jabs and blood tests at the onset to ensure he is healthy enough to endure the chemotherapy jabs. He is still currently at a foster home.
I will send this together with the castration bill for Sammy.
Thanks again
Eileen
