A few weeks ago, Susan Zakaria contacted me by email, to ask if we could help her friend, Siti.
Siti is a cat-lover and she has a small cat sanctuary. Yesterday, Ainey and I paid a visit to this sanctuary.
This is the entrance to Siti’s cat sanctuary.
The cages are located inside.

Siti is a hawker, but also a cat-lover. She has a small piece of land which she has turned it into a makeshift cat sanctuary now. She says many people dump cats at the gate, and she takes them in and gives them food and shelter. By doing so, the number of cats at her sanctuary is now more than sixty.
At 9am and 6pm daily, all the cats will come back for food. We reached her place at about 11.00am, and we saw about twenty cats in all.
Here are some photos:
This is a sick cat. The sick ones are confined in cages while undergoing medical treatment. The rest are free-roaming.
Another sick cat.
A pregnant cat.
A nursing mother and her baby.
This one looks Siamese.
The healthy ones. The rest have all gone for “walks” around the shoplots.
Another pregnant cat.
We spoke to Siti, and impressed upon her that there is an urgency to get her adult cats spayed and neutered, and she agreed. I then made a call to SPCA’s Dr Lim and informed her about Siti’s plight. Dr Lim said SPCA will certainly try its best to help Siti. I have already written in, on behalf of Siti, for a good package for spay-neuter and vaccinations. We will help her with the cost of spaying and neutering some of her cats. We hope others will also help her out as there are more than sixty cats to be spayed and neutered, and our funds definitely cannot cover all the cats!
Meanwhile, we will also publish the photos of the kittens and help Siti find adopters for them.
Here are some of the kittens. The rest have been taken out for a walk by their mothers. Siti says if we want to see the entire colony, we would have to come back at 6pm.
At present, Siti buys ikan tongkol and cooks it with rice for her cats. She also feeds them kibbles. Her expenses is about RM70 per day. She is appealing for help with catfood. If you would like to donate catfood to these cats, please contact Siti at the hp given below.

Susan’s aunty, also another cat-lover.
Siti’s cats are well-fed and cared for. She sends her sick cats for treatment at the nearest vet even though she is not given any rescue rate.
Siti needs help in food, spay-neuter and medicals for her many cats. Most of all, she needs to find homes for these cats.
If you would like to help Siti, please contact her at 016-2440830.
Please forward this link to animal-lovers and those who might be interested to adopt some of Siti’s cats.
Please help us find homes.
