This is from Mandy:
I dropped by MDDB’s halfway home on Friday and took a picture of this little Angel that Syakir rescued from Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh last week. Syakir contacted me through Animal Care to ask for help on a puppy that followed him home during his evening jog around his housing area early last week. He was concerned about the puppy and wanted to find a good home for the puppy so he called and ask about any possible help we can offer, we are not a sanctuary therefore i told Syakir we cannot take in the puppy if we can’t find a fosterer or an adopter but we can certainly try and worse comes to worst we would have to board it at one of our panel vet.
However, i decided to try my luck and call MDDB if they could take in this puppy. To my delight, they said yes! (MDDB has helped us tremendously in taking in all the Klang pound rescued pups before this). But the only thing we should do before bringing over the puppy is to get it examined in one of our panel vet for distemper, parvo and corona. So i directed Syakir to send the puppy to one of our panel vet to get it examined.
Since Syakir would have to send the puppy to MDDB in Klang i suggest he send the puppy to one of our panel vets in Klang. He drove all the way from Sungai Buloh to Klang on Wednesday and got it examined. After the pup is given a clean bill of health I then directed Syakir to MDDB’s halfway home and upon reaching there the caretakers are already on standby waiting for the puppy’s arrival. I didn’t manage to accompany Syakir down due to my busy schedule for the whole week but was relieved that we can share the responsibility of making sure it was rescued and fostered in this case. Sometimes, the public expect us to do everything for them and they think that they can wash their hands clean after but we are also working full time and have other responsibilities too. But if we work together and share out the responsibility then we would definitely be able to work out a solution.
I hope we do find more people like Syakir, although they have certain obligations as a Muslim, i think that what Syakir did is the true teachings in every religion and I am glad to know that Malaysia still has a lot compassionate people and it gives us hope in what we do.
