We have subsidised RM255 for the medical treatment of Xiao Huai and fully sponsored RM80 for her spaying. Petfinder.my is also subsidising the medical treatment jointly with us.

Subject: Wish to apply for medical fund
To: chankahyein@gmail.comDear Dr.Chan,
Good day. Me and my friend are independent rescuer in JB and we turned our house to a little foster home to foster our rescued dogs and cats and we named it Laika’s Voice. Recently we’ve rescued a seriously injured cat and wondering if possible to apply medical fund for her? This cat named Xiao Huai is one of the stray cat that we used to feed at back alley of my family’s home. She was staying with around 5-6 friends there, they’re all very afraid of people at the beginning, we’ve fed them for quite a long time and finally they’re friendly to us. Just about the time that we want to bring Xiao Huai for spaying surgery, we found that she was missing for 2 days. She appeared again with serious injuries, she was limping, very weak, have few parts of wounds on body and her belly drooped till almost touch the ground! Two days ago she was still a healthy cat. We tried to trap her for few days and finally managed to trap and sent her to vet clinic on 1/10/12 morning, after took x-ray vet told that her membrane that holds the intestines is broken, the intestines fell and it causes her belly drooped! This was caused mainly by falling down from roof/high places. She hurt her feet also. Her condition is very critical and the vet performed the surgery immediately on afternoon time to seal the membrane.Surgery is very successful and luckily the intestines did not get severe infection. The vet performed spaying surgery also at the same time and sadly there’s a dead fetus found in Xiao Huai’s stomach..she was pregnant! We and the vet didn’t know that before the surgery as the fetus fell also from the broken membrane with the intestines…She was staying at vet clinic for a week to have drips and under observation. She was discharged on 8/10/12 night. The vet bills cost us RM849.40 in total (excluded the spaying surgery fees) and we sincerely wish to appeal for some subsidy for her case as we’re fostering 8 cats and 5 dogs now and meanwhile also helps in spaying homeless dogs and cats…We already wrote to Petfinder to appeal for medical funds and they’ve assessed it and proved that the case qualifies for their medical fund. (I am still creating the pet profile….) and i wish to apply a second fund for help from animal care. We’re fostering her now and she needs to be fostered for at least 2 weeks for her wound to be fully recovered. We will then release her back to her colony and to reunite with her friends and then my sister will be their community care giver to monitor their condition all the time. Please find attached folder for her photos, medical bills and x-ray. I would really appreciate it if i could get some help to help Xiao Huai..thank you so much for your consideration.Warmest Regards,Gan Shiu Kem
