Visiting Wendy

After Eva’s examination, Ainey and I disinfected ourselves thoroughly, and off we went up to see Wendy.

Wendy was lying down and seemed a little tired.  There were many pieces of chicken left all over her cage, as though there had been some struggle.  I think someone had come to feed Wendy earlier and had left without waiting for her to finish the food.  Due to her ataxia, she must have lost control of her movements while eating.  This also happens whenever I feed her, hence, I had to hold the bowl to her mouth and move the bowl to adjust to the position of her mouth as she eats.

Eat up, Wendy.
Wendy was a bit quiet today, but she enjoyed the massage and stroking.  I also placed my hand at the base of her spine, something that Trevor (the reiki master) had taught me to do.
Ainey and I both said Wendy must miss Trevor very much.  She has been enjoying Trevor’s healing for three days in a row now.  Well, I hope Trevor is still sending healing energy from a distance to Wendy.
We fed Wendy, and as though reading our minds, Wendy chose all the chicken fat and ate them up.  Dr Susanna had said the fat is actually very important for Wendy for her recovery, especially because she has neurological signs.  I brought quite a bit of chicken fat for her today and I was wondering if she would eat them.  Well, she did!  All of them.  Wendy knows what she needs.
Ainey and I talked to Wendy, and she seemed to enjoy the company very much.  But it did not seem like she wanted to go for a walk, so we decided to let her be.
Just before we left, our volunteer, Teresa, arrived.  Teresa is also a reiki-healer, and she had come to do some healing for Wendy.

Teresa later text me to say she did 45 mins of healing for Wendy.  She also massaged Wendy and sang to her.  Wendy seemed to like that very much, and rolled over on her back.  When Teresa stopped, Wendy looked up, as though asking for more.  Teresa said Wendy seemed happy after the session.
Wendy would need lots of love and attention to recover gradually.
Rescuer Lydia just called me to discuss something, and she too visited Wendy today.  Lydia said she would be visiting Wendy next week.
We thank everyone who is helping Wendy in whatever ways possible.
It might take weeks before Wendy shows any marked improvement.  But as I’ve always said, it’s moments that matter.  If we can bring some cheer to Wendy each time we visit, we are already making a big difference to her life.
