I have left this posting for last, because I do not think I can write anymore postings after this. At least not for today.
Terry and I went to see Wendy today. It broke our hearts seeing her condition. She is still twitching, and is very thin. However, her eyes are still bright and she is alert. Dr Edmund says there is nothing more he can do for her. We have exhausted all avenues as far as Western medicine is concerned.
Wendy ate when we fed her a can of AD. Not voraciously, but she ate. We are hinging on any such good signs now.
Eating AD, slowly, but surely.
I specifically asked Terry to come along because I wanted Terry to give Wendy some reiki healing. Also, I wanted Wendy to know that there are people who care about her and want her to get well. We talked to Wendy and told her to get well soon. I also hugged her.
Later, I carried her downstairs and took her for a walk.
Wendy could walk, but was a bit ataxic. She would lean on me every once in a while or go off track. But she walked the length of the shoplots and back. I think she also felt happy being able to stretch a bit.
We are now appealing to reiki healers, especially those who can do distance-reiki to send healing energy to Wendy. She has hung on this far, please let’s help her get well. Or at least, feel better. Western medicine cannot do anything for her anymore now, but we will continue with the medications and feeding her AD every day.
We are appealing also to energy-healers, if they are near Puchong, to visit Wendy and give her some healing. If you can bring boiled chicken for her, it would be good too.
I am still trying to contact Dr Susanna Brida, to see if she can help Wendy with acupuncture. She has not returned my text messages. We feel strongly that acupuncture might be able to relieve her discomfort from the twitching. Even Dr Edmund encouraged us to try.
I did not want to think of the worst while I was with Wendy because dogs have a sixth sense and they can sense what you feel. So I kept my spirits up and encouraged her. I told her we wanted her to get well, and that she would get well. But I left the clinic with a very heavy heart.
Dr Edmund says Wendy can be discharged already. She just needs a fosterer to feed her her oral medicines. We think having someone to look after her would make a huge difference and perhaps, increase her chances of recovery, or make her feel more comfortable. Love heals. It always does.
Would anyone like to foster Wendy?
Wendy is a distemper patient, rescued from the Klang Dog Pound. She was tested negative on 20th December, but brought back to recuperate from flu symptoms. Her distemper symptoms did not manifest at all until three weeks later.
Please send healing energy to Wendy. She needs all the help we can give her now.
I feel exactly as I did the night I came back from Joanie’s (the cat with the unobstructed labour) rescue. The vets said her chances were almost nil. Joanie hung on, and after a week, she showed some signs of recovery. I went to the hospital to nurse her twice a day, and spent hours with her. In three weeks, she was already up and running.
I feel very helpless with Wendy’s case now because there is nothing more that Western medicine can offer. We need spiritual help, and spiritual healing. I recited prayers for Wendy before I left. I hope that made a difference, somehow. She responds to human contact, and she rested her head on my lap.
As Bhante Wimala has often said, we have to find a place of peace in our hearts to return to, especially when confronted with situations like these. And we have to rejoice, no matter how bleak the situation, that we have done our best, and that is all that really matters.
I am looking for that place in my heart now.
