Ainey visited PJay after work yesterday. She writes:
After work yesterday, I went straight to the vet’s and Dr Liu showed me the x-rays taken of PJay’s abdomen and right hind leg… my immediate reaction was ‘Ouch, Ouch, OUCH!!’… the femur bone is quite badly broken… poor dog, he’s in so much pain… PJay’s white blood cell count is also lower than normal, but this is not a main concern at this point…
Dr Liu said PJay’s appetite is not good, as he did not eat much of his food… Then I went to the back to see him… He was facing the wall, so I took the bowl of food to him so he did not need to move much or stand up… He ate! Quite heartily too! Even Dr Liu was surprised… We were both very happy! Dr Liu asked the vet assistant to give PJay a second helping of food and at this point, he stood up on 3 legs and lapped everything up! A good appetite is always happy news!
Pjay is a nice friendly dog, and so I wonder if he’s really a stray… stray dogs are more street smart than going onto highways… could PJay be lost or abandoned, perhaps?
PJay’s surgery is schedule for this Friday… I wish Friday would come sooner as I know he’s in great pain… just look at the x-rays!
