In about a weeks’ time, Perky ought to be ready to go “home”.
But she doesn’t have a home.
Perky is one of the survivors of our Klang Dog Pound rescue. She braved through a storm. We took her out of the pound along with 35 others. She was brought to Bentong, spayed by our vet after 5 days, started bleeding after the vet left (I had to apply pressure on her wound to stop the bleeding). Then, the next day, the SPCA vet said she did not look good at all, so their team helped us bring her back to board at PAWS.
Upon her arrival, she was in such a bad shape, the PAWS manager called me to caution me that she might not make it. We came back from Bentong and I found her almost lifeless that evening.
The next day, she perked up a little, and subsequently we went every day to feed the whole gang chicken soup with garlic. Everyone there was given Vetri DMG daily, plus 5 days’ doxycyclin (antibiotics).
Perky bounced back very quickly.
She is now a very happy and cheerful little dog. I am very sure she would make a good pet.
Perky should be ready to be receive her first vaccination. She is now boarding at one of our panel vet’s clinic, along with four others.
I surmise Perky is a very strong dog, internally and externally. While many dogs contracted distemper from the pound and some died, Perky seemed to be alright.
She is a little “chilli padi”, but not fierce, just strong and…well, perky!
Please help us find an adopter or fosterer for her.
Just like Sean and Tara, Perky really deserves a loving home (well, all animals do, too).
