Updates on everyone

I checked with Mr Perumal and Mr Kanthan yesterday, and JT, Stevie and Lamps are all doing fine with their respective families.  Kanthan says Stevie and Lamps are “naughty”, which is a good sign, because all healthy and smart puppies will go through the “naughty” stage.  Mr Perumal says JT is bonding very well with his three children (Noveen and his two elder sisters).

Chelsea is at home with Andrew and Yi Lin – this would be her permanent home now.  They have decided to adopt her (it was daughter, Samantha’s, idea).  A day after the surgery, there was a small hole in Chelsea’s suture (she probably bit the stitches) so she had to be stitched back the next day.  Now, she is on the e-collar for a week.  Andrew says Chelsea appears to be very “well-behaved” in public but is actually quite “determined” when with them (sounds like most children I know!).

Mdm Sundari called yesterday, and I spoke with her.  She is coming to terms with the loss of her dog.  A rescuer has helped her transport 3 of the 7 puppies to our panel vet who had offered to place 3 puppies at his clinic.  I have asked the vet’s assistant to help find good homes for them.  I will keep her updated on the progress of these 3 puppies.  Sundari is concerned about the safety of these puppies – we understand this, especially since she had just lost her dog.  Believe me, we are all badly shaken by this loss too.  It was really something beyond anyone’s control.  I have discussed this with another vet and he said in all surgeries, there are risks.  He has also encountered one unexplained case where a stray female dog died on the table during a routine spay surgery.

Mdm Sundari needs help to rehome the remaining 4 puppies because she is facing ill health.  She is planning to give the adult male dog (who, incidentally, is not the father of the puppies) to her brother.  I have asked her if she would like to keep one puppy as a companion.  If so, she has to find homes for another 3 puppies then.

Today, we will be away at the event at HUKM.  Do drop in, if you are free.
