So I was told…

While we were doing out best to help the old Labrador (there is still no news of his whereabouts at this point in time), I was told that there are contractors out there who part-time by catching stray dogs.  These dogs are then surrendered to DBKL on Friday evenings.  Extermination is carried out on every Saturday morning.  The contractors are paid a certain sum for each dog surrendered.

Then, I was also told that besides surrendering these dogs to DBKL for extermination, there are also contractors who sell the dogs for RM100 each to “exotic meat restaurants”, which operate “underground” in certain areas.

This is the plight of stray dogs, folks.

Please help us to control the stray population by practising CNRM.  We are already providing the vets and the funds, please help us by catching them and bringing them to our vets for spaying/neutering.

And please do not say “nothing can be done”.  Something can be done.  Every dog spayed/neutered amounts to the prevention of hundreds of unwanted offsprings being born and subject to capture, extermination, the butcher’s knife and placating the taste buds of humans.
