In loving memory of Mimi

We understand how sad and painful it is to lose a kitten or puppy (or any animal) we have been fostering, even though the encounter may have been short.

We empathise and sympathise with Sue’s sadness in losing Mimie.

This is from Sue:

When the doctor’s told us that she is dying. I tried not to believe it and would want to proof him wrong…

Making a promise to myself for better or worse, I am going to nurse her the best that I can BUT where did I GO WRONG this time……

The day I SMS you to say that her diarrhea stop, she has been eating so well ever seen. She can finish up a bowl of the boiled chicken, she have full energy to rooming a round my living room up to the kitchen, curious to explore more and more..

I was so so Happy.. Hey… I manage to proof them wrong to say that she can’t be save. (but I guess it didn’t last long) I have even took her photo that was 2 days before she passing..(attached)

She even had a good meal the night before..She choose to go after a brave struggling, I was with her the whole night and telling her to be strong, she can make it and that I will rush her to the clinic in the morning

I was not able to fulfill it……

Even though she only spent a week with us BUT we will definitely miss her….. Trying comforting myself.. Look at the bright side, she does not need to go thru all the pain and that, God loves her more then we do..

May she rest in peace now.

Sue, you didn’t do anything wrong.  You did everything right by showering Mimie with love and care, and carefully executing the instructions given by the vet.  I’d like to believe that Mimie’s life as a kitten was meant to be a short one, and you made her (short) life a meaningful one by providing her with a loving home and everything she needed.  Mimie is in a better place now, so let’s be comforted in knowing this, and we wish her happiness and peace.

In loving memory of Mimie:

Thank you, Sue, for taking care of Mimie and giving her a good and loving life.  May you be blessed for your kind heart.

How many other people would have simply ignored Mimie, but Sue chose to take her in and look after her despite the poor prognosis given by the vet.  We are proud to be associated with Sue, and glad to count her as a friend of AnimalCare.

A message to Sue and her husband:
I'm sorry that Mimie died after all your hopes and best efforts to prevent it. You did what you could for her despite the vet's poor prognosis and although you did not succeed in saving her life, you did give her a safe and loving environment in her final days where she knew what it was like to be loved and cared for.
Despite this sad outcome, I hope you won't be discouraged from helping stray animals in the future.
    All the best.
