I’m happy to inform you that Mimi (the highly-emaciated kitten rescued by Sue and brought to our vet, who was in a dying condition) is doing much better now under the tender loving care of Sue and her husband.
Here’s Sue’s text msg received yesterday:
Mimi’s diarrhoea has stopped. I still feed her boiled chicken every two hours. Can I give milk or glucose water? I wipe her with warm water to clean her up.
No milk, Sue. Glucose water is fine. Or just plain water, since she has chicken already.
I spoke to the vet about Mimi and he says there has to be no slacking at all in caring for Mimi at this point. She can still go down.
I am sure Sue and her husband will be able to bring Mimi to a healthy and robust condition again.

Rehydration solutions sold OTC for diarrhoea is better than glucose-water. Yes no milk as there is some temporary lactose-intolerance during a gut infection, so milk will aggravate the diarrhoea.
Another natural remedy to give is Lacteol forte sachet.
Sue, when having diarrhoea, milk and high fat stuffs are no-nos, just like humans. No-nos anytime you have water stools or digestive upset, kay? Simply lightly boiled/steamed chicken breast meat minus the skin. 🙂
No glucose, Mimi might have diabetes. Just give her the concentrated chicken liquid from the boiled/steamed chicken. That and the chicken meat will provide her with the energy she needs, minus the sugar surge which may be only for emergency severely dehydrated case. Anyway, a cat is different from humans. All the best!
