Subject: Subsidy request
To: “chankahyein@gmail.com” <chankahyein@gmail.com>Good afternoon Kah Yein,I am Nadirah and I would like to request for the animal care subsidy. I am not sure if I am an eligible candidate as I was just informed of animalcare.my today. On Jan 16, my cousin Nur Raihan Thye and I Nadirah H. Rodzi rescued a stray cat near the Taman Tun Dr Ismail market. It was lying by the roadside, gasping for air. Initially, we thought that it had just been hit by a car, the right eye socket had popped and seeing how serious the injury was, we brought it to a nearby vet. After a thorough check-up, the doctor ruled out any head-on accident. He said that judging from its injuries – a cracked cranium, blood clot in the head, a burst eye, bruised internal organs – the cat might have been severely abused. We were also informed that the cat was pregnant, but she lost her babies due to the impact. The cost to remove her dead babies and right eye reached RM2,726. We have paid the full amount and the procedures were successful. Although the rescue mission turned fruitful, we are now financially constrained as we need to pay back the money we owe to those who loaned us the money. The cat, whom we named Baby, is now doing well but we may need to bring her to the vet again as we noticed that the right eye has developed some puss.We are not looking at the full amount, but if we could get something, it would mean the world to us. We just didn’t have the heart to leave the cat alone to die. What does that make us if we did.In this email, I attached the medical bill receipt and photos of the cat (before and after the procedures.) We can’t remember the name of the doctor but there’s only one doctor there and his contact number is stated in the bill.We hope to get a good news from your end. Will be waiting for your reply.Regards,Nadirah H. Rodzi
Nadirah’s cousin adopted Baby and Baby is recovering well now.

To: Chan Kah Yein <chankahyein@gmail.com>Baby is doing very well now. But we had a bit of a problem several days ago. The eye was mildly infected since the vet thought she didn’t need a cone, so we had to send her back to the vet and got the eye cleaned again. We were quite frustrated with the doctor because of this but I’m glad that it’s over now.Anyway, it’s kind of cute to see her with a cone on. Hehe. We pray that she recovers fast. We just hope that her suffering ends.Regards,Nadirah Rodzi

My heart stopped for a moment when i read the possible cause of injury… abuse. Sometimes I wish i have super powers and all those animal (and human) abusers will be vanquished at a single thought… sigh… I shouldn’t be thinking bad thoughts… It’s going to be CNY…
such a horrific thing. the poor cat.
Good job, Nadirah. Thank God, there are still people like you.
I hope you get the subsidy…so that you will be able to continue saving abused animals.
i know, it is not about the money…but how can we help them if we are not financially able to..
All the best!
Dear Nuraina, As announced in the blogpost, we have already subsidised RM500 for this case.
