We have subsidised RM420.50 for this case (the total bill is RM541). This community dog, Kutty, was found with a head injury. Lester Hiew and his mother, Jenny Khong, who feed the community dogs, brought him to the vet and Kutty underwent surgery to remove an abscess in the head. He was hospitalised for 18 days because daily dressing and cleaning were needed. Lester and his mother are still doing daily cleaning and dressing for Kutty now, after discharge.
This subsidy comes from all donors through our Medical Fund (RM135.50) and Berjaya Cares (RM135) and this makes up a total of RM270.50 which is 50% of the bill. Another additional RM150 donation comes from Kok Khee Wee.

To: “chankahyein@gmail.com” <chankahyein@gmail.com>good evening Dr Chan,4/5/13: we brought Kutty to the clinic and the vet said that Kutty was hit by a blunt object and the bump was actually abscess and it will gradually become bigger unless the abscess was taken out. this can only be done by a minor surgery whereby the vet opens 2 small holes on the abscess and places a tube for the abscess to flow out.6/5/13: the first absess removal surgery was done and the damage was worse than it seems according to the vet. there were a lot of pus and blood found in his wound. he was put in the vet for further cleaning and monitoring.14/5/13: pictures taken showed that his bump is still there eventhough it is smaller as compared to the first time. The vet performed another abscess removal on his wound. there were still some pus and blood found. we kept in contact with the vet on Kutty’s condition after that and received news that Kutty can finally be discharged.
25/5/13: Kutty was finally discharged from the clinic. he was really happy and excited to go back to his other furry friends. mum and i were told by the vet that we have to slightly press and massage his wound so his wound will become smaller.
mum and i would like to apply a medical subsidy for Kutty and we confirm that we are not asking for funds from anyone or anywhere.
