We express our deepest condolences to the adopter and also to Maslinda on the peaceful passing of Ongsan yesterday morning. Ongsan was doing very well and recovering beautifully from his ailments until three days ago when his condition took a turn.
We are comforted in knowing that his adopter and family was able to give Ongsan so much love and care towards the last part of Ongsan’s tour of Earth before departing for a happy place now.
Moments are all we have. Time is relative and life is all about making those moments count. The adopter and her family have certainly given Ongsan wonderful and precious moments which we are confident will accompany Ongsan to that happy place that all animals go to after they have finished their journey here with us.
Be happy and free now, Ongsan!
We express our deepest and heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the adopter and her family.
Dear Dr. Chan,
I’m sorry to inform you that our sweet lovely Ongsan has passed on early this morning. He was doing so well until 2 days ago he lost his appetite and need to be forced feed, he suddenly looks ill and dehydrated and jaundiced. I rushed him to the vet and he was admitted and put on drip immediately. The vet did a blood test yesterday and found that his kidney is failing as his urea level is high. She was cautiously optimistic that he will able to survive. Her diagnosis is that Ongsan has blood parasite (possibly for a long time already) since he has fleas and jaundiced when he first came to see her. The parasite has been domain when he was on antibiotics but active again when he was off antibiotics. She was preparing to put Ongsan on medications for blood parasite.
Ongsan’s case was a complicated one; as the antibiotics has to be taken off as his liver might be impaired as he was still on intraconazole for his crytocossis (wound on his nose) is healing very well and he looks almost 90% back to normal. It was a Catch-22; Ongsan is severely underweight and his failing kidney made it difficult for him to gain weight and stay hydrated.
Ongsan is a gift to our lives. Although we had him for less than a month but he brings so much joy, affection and every baby steps he took is a reason for celebration and it really a big deal. Last 14th June he was so proud of himself when he was able to jump to the 2nd level of the cage and stay on it to greet us when we came to see him in the morning. Then when we let him out of his cage he quickly went downstairs and head straight to the front door to see outside beyond the porch and look at the trees where the squirrels, birds and butterflies play. He will sit there until he was restless and I will carry him up to his room upstairs where will go straight to his water bowl and drinks water to hydrate himself. He would snuggle his head against my neck lovingly while I carried him.
We will miss Ongsan so much as we spend many happy time chilling out in his room together with his buddies Aslan, Riley and Gim Gim; Ongsan would goes round and rubbed his head against each one of us until he settle on his favourite spot under the window. He such a sweet quiet loving boy and has made so much imprints in our hearts.
Mas, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for bringing Ongsan into our lives; without you rescuing him and accepting to take him in we would not have known Ongsan. He is true to his name – means victory – he is a victor in our hearts and souls and will always be a part of our family. He has a quiet dignity and elegance and Hubby always looks at Ongsan and said “Look, how majestic he looks”. We decided that 5th June was Ongsan’s birthday as it was the day we adopted him. He was so attached to hubby and yesterday lunch time hubby rushed over from office to have a chat with Ongsan at the vet’s and he looks like he was getting better. We never expected to receive news early this morning that he has passed on.
Here are snaps of Ongsan when he got on the 2nd tier or his cage and his grave under the tree where we buried him close our fur babies who has passed on.
We would like to thank everyone who has sent good wishes and prayers to Ongsan and you Dr Chan for giving us the opportunity to have known Ongsan. Ongsan is truly a blessing.
Kind regards.
P.S.
Minutes after Ongsan’s funeral two white butterflies one big and one small appeared and flew over the trees and plants around us. It comforted us that Ongsan’s is being greeted and accompanied by our Sam.

Rest In Peace sweet Ongsan. You have been joy, love and inspiration. May you gain a good rebirth as a human being and meet all the loving people you have known, in joy again.
Thank you to Ongsan’s loving adopters who loved him dearly and gave him a good life. I teared up reading this. You obviously adored Ongsan, your deep love for him was very much felt. Thank you too to Mas. Bless all your good hearts. Lastly, thank you to Sister Kah Yein who made all these possible. You have done an amazing job for AnimalCare. May you always be blessed.
Dear Jasmin,
Thank you very much for your very comforting words and wisdom. It means a lot to us. Your words gave us strength and inspiration to carry on.
We believe that Ongsan will gain a good rebirth as you said and as if you have met in personally you will find his aura is a wise, peaceful and soulful one. You cannot help but love and adore him as much as we all feel towards him.
Thank you once again, Jasmin for always having us in your thoughts and prayers and accompanying us on our journey with our beloved Ongsan. May you always be blessed.
Regards.
Ongsan’s Family
Dear Ongsan’s family,
If my words have comforted you a little, I am happy. It is never easy when we lose a beloved pet. From the photos, I can see that Ongsan is a sweet natured cat and has the aura of calmness about him. He’s peaceful and gentle though he’s ill.
In 1995, we neutered and adopted a stray cat who often came to our house and named him Toni. Even though he was an ordinary tabby, he was so beautiful and affectionate. It was so easy to love him. We allowed him to roam outside. Sadly, he was only with us for a year. One day, he just didn’t come home for his meals. Up till today, I still think of him and miss him. I often wonder what happened on the day he disappeared.
Now we have a cat named Cathy. She was a stray calico cat that we’ve spayed and adopted. She’s been with us for 6 years already. This lady is one manja cat and very well behaved too. We’ve never toilet trained her yet she’s never done her business in our garden or compound! And she only miows when she’s hungry. I love her purring sound when I carry her <3
Ongsan was blessed to have found a family in you. I believe he's in a good place now and always grateful for the love you showered upon him. Animals have good souls. I believe we will meet again the pets we love. You are a beautiful person who love your pets dearly. May you always be blessed. Take care too.
Kind regards,
Jasmine
