Cruelty at boarding house – Photo update of the “dying” cat

Maslinda sent this photo, taken when she visited the three cats boarded at the vet in PJ today.

The cat is at least sitting up and that is a good sign.

You’d see that the body has been shaven – three cats were brought in in this condition yesterday.

I checked with a vet and she suggested that perhaps the cats were so hungry (or maybe even traumatised), they bit off their own fur, or each other’s fur. This seems plausible as only the hair on the torso appears to have been bitten off.  It is the same with the other two that were emaciated. They had probably bitten each other’s fur off due to extreme hunger, fear and trauma.

We hope and pray she will continue to recover and grow stronger with time.

Will the owner of this cat contact me at chankahyein@gmail.com or Wani at wanimuthiah@gmail.com, please?

The other two cats are also doing well.

Thank heavens these three cats were saved in the nick of time!

If this calico survives, she will be known as the Poster Girl of the infamous Petknode Hell Hotel Rescue Operations!

No lah, dogs can cannabalise each other like Pulau Ketam case but not so much cats. Anyway, look at the half-dead white mama cat: starved as she had been, she did not even eat the dead kitten nor the 2 half-dead kittens. And the missing fur were on the sides which gets dirty when the cat starts to lie on its side when very weak. Anyway, if the cats attempt to eat each other, there would be injuries on the limbs, face and other parts of the body.
