PETA recently released shocking photos showing live pigs strung up so that they could be shot with high-velocity bullets at a military medical training facility in Denmark. The bleeding, still-breathing animals were surgically patched back up and then killed. Just a small handful of NATO countries—including the U.S., Canada, Denmark, Norway, and the U.K.—continue to shoot, stab, poison, and dismember pigs and other live animals in crude training drills despite the availability of human simulators that are remarkably life-like and more effective at teaching wound-treatment skills. We need your help to end these archaic exercises.
