Dear all,
We thank everyone who has been donating to us, and after we set up a PayPal donation facility, some local donors have also started using PayPal without realising that it is a lot more cost-effective to just pay the RM2 interbank bank transfer (if you do not have an account with PBB) than to pay PayPal’s commission.
I had initially thought the commission was about 4%, but this is not so for smaller amounts. It could be as high as 8%! Our latest two donations of RM50 and below was charged a commission as high as 8.67%.
Here’s what I found out. PayPal’s commission is 3.4%, plus there is another charge, which is RM2 if you transact in Malaysian currency. That is how it came up to 8% for small amounts.
So, for local donors, please bank in your donations directly to our PBB account instead of using PayPal.
PayPal is for overseas donations.

I am not promoting any bank.
But if you use CIMB, it will only charge RM1 commission for interbank transfers.
If you are residing in Malaysia, please dont donate via Paypal. It doesnt make sense to let them earn 8% commission when such money should go to the stray animals.
Well… Paypal has to earn money somehow. There are no such thing as free lunches. With that said, I do agree Paypal is only wise for international transactions.
Oooopssss…. Hehehe … 🙂
Noted! 🙂
