No more cash donations to our Fund

Updates: AnimalCare is NOT closing. We’re back to serve the animals! http://animalcare.my/2015/01/18/were-back-on-track-with-our-neutering-subsidies/

The original post:

Dear Friends,

My platelet count is back up but blood pressure is still low, so plenty of rest is still in order for recovery. Thank you very much for all your kind wishes and support.

Thank you, too, for alerting me to the fact that I cannot be running AnimalCare at this pace as it is only a matter of time when I will burn out or worse…your reminder is most timely and highly appreciated. It is a “bonk on the head” which I badly needed and I am grateful for that.

As explained in the previous post, I was already contemplating cutting down on the operations on AnimalCare and now seems a good time to do it. We have already cut down on the merchandising; but we are obligated to produce a last tshirt since the design had already been prepared for us. The tshirt has already been printed and will be out soon. It comes in a limited edition of only 140 pieces so we hope you will support us one last time by purchasing it for your family and friends as souvenirs from AnimalCare before we close the Fund.

With immediate effect too, we will stop accepting cash donations to our Fund. Over the five-and-a-half years, we have fundraised enough and our reserves will tide us over the next few months in the payment of subsidies. We will use our reserves until the funds are depleted over time or until such a time when we close it (and the balance of the funds donated to animal charities). We thank all regular donors for their generosity and trust over the years. We are very grateful.

All applicants are still welcome to apply for our subsidies as per policy. Everything will go on as per normal for now.

You have connected and touched so many lives (humans and animals) and given us so much knowledge through endless sharing. You have inspired many with your passion to help the street animals and to be kinder, compassionate and to see the world that we share with the animals. I respect your decision Dr. Chan. You still have a friend in me and do not ever hesitate to ask me for any help, you hear. You take the much needed break. If you need a pet sitter to go on a belated holiday trip, you know who to call.

Since it is Christmas, let me wish you many blessings and good tidings! God bless!

Thank you for all that you have done for so long….You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I am so happy to have crossed path with you and to have learnt so much from you too. I miss attending your dharma talks and helping you out at events. I hope you’ll recover soon from this bout of illness and feel good again. Love from Don, Creamy, Butty, Portia and Pants. HUGS!

    Dear Dr.Chan,

Thank you for all the wonderful things you have done both for humans and the animals. You definitely deserve the rest. Through You, I have crossed path with many wonderful amazing people that have led to friendships. Although it’s sad to hear your decision, but I think it’s about time you need to take care of yourself too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Hope the new year brings you more of everything your heart desires.

    Dear Dr. Chan,

The lives that you have touched in your journey to help out the strays out there are just massive. I’m very honoured to come across your website and to get to know your amazing work. I do still want to keep in touch with you and still want to read about your wonderful cats. Hope you will still keep this blog even though there’s not going to be any more subsidies. No words can explain how grateful I am for your support not to mention how lucky the animals are to have had your subsidy. Take good care of yourself Dr. Chan! We love you!!!!!

Dear Norely, I have actually already begun to transfer all my home stories (blogposts) to my old blogger account (myanimalcare.blogspot.com), which is free. The import will be completed in about a week’s time. With better health in time to come, I hope to continue writing there. So, there will be stories….

Dear Friends, Thank you for supporting my decision. There is a time and place for everything and I truly hope you will continue supporting us as we make our exit. We still need help with selling off our merchandise. Your kind words are most appreciated. I am deeply touched.

    Dear Sis. Kah Yein,

I totally agree with our friends comments above. It’s time you take a very much well deserved rest and holiday. You have done and accomplished so much with your life. I can never accomplish all that you do, not even in many lifetimes to come!! You are a great blessing to all those whose lives you have touched and connected. You are one of my heroine and I really salute you for doing all that you do so well. You are one of the greatest blessings in my life. Through you, I’ve learnt that there’s something very special about animals and your heartwarming true stories of animal compassion and devotion in your books are simply beautiful. I’ve learnt to love them more too. I also love all your dhamma teachings in your books , CDs and the uploaded videos by your friends.

You will always have a very special place in my heart and in my prayers. Thank you once again for everything and please take good care of yourself. I sincerely pray you will recover soon. May all heavenly devas from all world systems bless and protect you always. May the blessings of the Triple Gem be with you and your loved ones always.

Wishing you a very happy and blessed New Year 2015. ♡ Hugs ♡

    Dear Kah Yein

Carol informed me of your decision to stop running myanimalcare as you need to take care of your health. It must not have been an easy decision for you but I am so very glad that sensibility has prevailed. You have accomplished so much for our furry friends … the many rescues you have done, the awareness you have raised, the many beautiful connections you have made. It has been a mammoth giving from you to all of us and our furry friends. The roses have been waiting patiently for you to smell their fragrance. Now is the time.

You will always have a special place in our hearts. May your health return to full bloom soon.

Imm, myself & all our furry friends at Imm’s shelter wish you & your family a very joyful, peaceful and healthy New Year. We will never forget your support when it was most needed. We are where we are today because of your
your beautiful & caring heart. Bless you always. Mega TQ!
