Hi Dr Chan,

Good day to you!
This is the first time I write to you and I get to know about the aid from a vet.
I was a rescuer in PJ area and moved to Bentong a year ago. I continue my rescue work in small scale with the help of some local animal lovers.
The most common things happened in Bentong are stray dogs and cats hit by cars and trucks, and many people dumping animals to farm area. Most of the farms take pity of the animals, they will feed the animals but didn’t really gate them, so the animals hanging around by roadside. The worst thing is the animals multiply and the stray problems are snowballing here. The second problem is contagious diseases like Canine Distemper, it spreads real fast.
On 26th March, I have spayed 5 female dogs and 1 male dog. Here are the details:
#1 YinYin
Female Dog
I rescued at Jalan Chamang, keep in my house for 2 weeks before spaying. Some one is interested to adopt her, if not successful to be adopted out, I will foster her.
#2 Yang Yang
Female Dog
Daughter of Yin Yin who I rescued together with the mom from same place. Would push the adopter to adopt her together with the mom. If not, I will foster her.
#3 Brad
Male Dog
Rescued November last year at Taman Saga, Bentong, found with a big maggot wound on top of the head with many maggots swimming in it. Sent to vet and the wound is closing now, yet to close completely. Brad gains a lot of weight and he is a happy and good boy now. During the neutering, doctor found that he has TVT. Doctor advices to initiate the treatment in another 2 weeks as the wound on the head yet to close completely. I will take care of Brad for the rest of his life.
(I would like to enquire about the aid for medical fee if this case is qualified)
#4 Biskut
Female Dog
Belong to a farm that near a rubbish dump at Jalan Chamang, Bentong. The owner feeds the dogs but no money to spay them. Currently he has 10 dogs, 6 females and 4 males, there are a few cats too. To prevent the quantity of stray increases, I told him I will take his dogs to spay. He didn’t have money to pay me, but I think the spaying is important to do to prevent more money to spend in future. I told him I will pay. Spaying done and I have sent the dog back to the farm.
#5 One
Female Dog
Belong to another farm where they rear goats at another side of Jalan Chamang, Bentong. Many people dump dogs there and the owner take pity of the dogs, so he feeds about 20 of them. About 3 of the female are pregnant now. I told him I will help to spay the not pregnant female asap. Spaying done and I have sent the dog back to the farm. I am trying to rehome their dogs to other farms.
#6 Two
Female Dog
Same as #5.
I have attached 6 collage of the above animals, and I will post the forms with receipt tomorrow.
I am taking care about 30 dogs and 5 cats, my fund comes from public but it’s always not enough. The part that spend most money are medical fee for sick and injured animals. The local are kind to help me with the food, some donate, some raise money to buy for me, some gimme very cheap price. My average expenses on the animals each month is about RM2-3k, I barely make it. This neutering project is good, I will continue doing it. I believe spending money to neuter them better them to bring the future injured animals to vet. I would really hope to get some aid from your organisation, for me to continue this project here in Bentong. This receipt and case I didn’t post on any social media platform to raise fund as it contrary to the application. My social media platform is over used, most of the people who can afford to donate, already donate to me for the past 4 years, my last few cases only manage to raise a few hundreds which are not enough for the medical bill, so I decided to reach out as suggested by the vet.
Thank you so much for reading my long winded email. Thank you so much for your organisation helping the animals. Please feel free to contact me for more information. Hope to hear from you soon.
Love,
Siew Yoon
