Or for that matter, anybody….
This afternoon, after our first potential adopter left, I held Yorky close to my heart for at least one hour. From being the shivering, scared little thing that he was, always wanting to run to a corner to hide, he stopped shivering and was calm. He even looked me in the eye (yes, with those soulful eyes that all dogs have – that melts your heart!), looked at the clinic cats (which are all bigger than him), then he nibbled at my tshirt playfully. Later I placed him on the floor, and he went about the clinic, sniffing around, exploring the place.
Just one hour of holding him close to me….and it already made a difference.
That’s all it takes, folks.
Love and kindness.
