Super is far too weak to undergo surgery, judging from his worsening condition today. The vet feels he might not make it through the procedure, so Super’s rescuer has decided not to proceed.
I had a discussion with the rescuer, and Super is being brought for a second opinion right now. If the prognosis is still as bad, the last resort would be to make Super as comfortable as possible as he lives out his final days.
It is painful and heart-breaking to watch Super. He is very excited to see food, but he cannot eat. There is something very wrong with his gut as the xrays show a lesion in this area, yet the only way to find out exactly what is wrong is through exploratory surgery. Unfortunately, due to his present emaciated condition, his chances of surviving the surgery is almost nil.
Super also responds happily to people and is incredibly friendly. Though he can hardly walk, he still tries very hard to respond when visitors call his name.
This is the harsh reality, folks. Some owners throw their pet out when the pet is sick. And dogs who have been pets are very reliant on their owner’s care. They are not like mongrels who can survive on their own on the street.
We are now awaiting news of Super’s prognosis from another vet, and I will update you accordingly.
Meanwhile, I have informed Super’s donors that I will be returning their donations since there will be no surgery now, but most of them have decided to redirect their donations to our general fund so that it may benefit other animals and those who would need our help in future. We thank you for your kindness and generosity.
May Super be at peace and be free from pain and suffering.
May he know, somehow, that he is surrounded by love from near and far.

Hope you will allow Cooper to live out his life the natural way and not put him to sleep.
I am the last person who would ever suggest putting any animal to sleep.
I hope you will read the postings on Cooper and understand that I am only helping to raise funds for his surgery. Cooper is not under my care. I am only helping his rescuer.
I have never had any animal euthanised before but I will not judge others who have.
I have heard of the sufferings that neglected animals go through, and how medical science simply cannot help them anymore. It is extremely difficult if one has to face such decisions. We have to empathise with people and not judge them harshly.
