Visiting Super

Hi everyone,

We visited Super today.  As always, he was very happy to see people.

Here’s Super…
He warms up to you right away.
Smile for the camera, Super!
I spoke to the vet about Super.  Right now, the plan is to fatten him up.  Super has been so terribly emaciated, there’s really nothing much we should do right now except to feed him.
Ever since coming to this clinic, Super has been eating small, frequent meals and he is able to retain all the food.  No vomiting so far.
He still cannot walk very well, and he is still skin and bones.  I asked the vet, and the vet thinks this is due to the fact that Super has been starving for too long, hence, there is muscle atrophy and a general weakness in him.
He’s been given wet and dry food and is able to tolerate both.  I’ve told the vet to beef up on the Hill’s Science AD since AD is the best food for him right now.  One can costs RM7.50, but it’s good for him, so we will give him the very best.
While we were there, we fed him a can of AD, and he ate it all up.  Very happily, too.
Super gets to go for walks twice a day, and he enjoys it very much, even though he cannot walk very well – he falls every few steps.  The vet says walking is good for him as it will build his muscles again.
We will monitor Super’s progress on a daily basis.  We hope he gets better and stronger every day with this diet.  The vet agrees that if Super regains his health through good nutrition, perhaps surgery is not needed at all.  That’ll be the best, of course.  Let’s all hope for this, folks.
It’s one day at a time now.  And we rejoice each day that he is able to retain food.
Keep sending the positive thoughts, folks.
Get well soon, Super.  We’re cheering you on!
AnimalCare is sponsoring Super’s treatment and boarding at this clinic.
