If we care about animals and the earth, here’s a simple thing all householders can do…
Make garbage enzyme.
It is really quite simple: http://o3enzyme.com/garbage/enzyme-production/ (everything you need to know about making garbage enzyme)
– as a household cleaning liquid
– to remove foul odours, molds and grime in the kitchen and toilet
– as an anti-bacterial and anti-viral agent
– to drive away insects
– to clean carpets and remove ticks
– for laundry washing and ironing
– for mopping floors
– for cleaning cars
To enhance the nutrients and reduce the side effects of the chemicals in shampoos, dish-washing liquids, detergents:
Add one teaspoon of enzyme to every 500cc of shampoos, dish-washing liquids, detergents.

Yes! This is the way to go. =)
Back in my mother's place, my aunt uses enzyme to do washing of drains and sinks and toilets. In my in-laws place, they don't do the liquid enzyme but use them as fertiliser. we separate garbage those we can reuse and those we can't.
Thanks for sharing.
p.s do u know if it can be used to bathe dogs with fleas and ticks? (add it into a pail of water and use the water to bathe)??
Hi Yen Ling, If you look at the link I sent, it says it can even be used to get rid of ticks. Try and see? It's probably much safer than Frontline and the other commercial tick wash(es). We know it's not toxic.
Yes, garbage enzyme is very, very good to use. I especially love it because it is non-toxic to use in the pet area (diluted of course). It really reduces the pong from the pee and poo. I spay a thin diluted film inside of the poo box before lininng it with newspaper, then spay another thin film on top of the newspaper lining before putting in the twisted paper shreads (I do not use litter sand at all).
I also spray the floor to deodorise the area and get rid of the insects (mosquitoes, flies, ants, cockroaches) which avoid the place because they hates the smell.
I also put some in the final laundry rinse to get rid of stubborn sweat odor in the clothes. Good for rescuers since you might have to go to dirty places like drains to rescue animals.
Yen Ling, put some in the final rinse of the dog's bath water.
Spray some on your body after bath too, beats using commercial deodorant.
KY, sell it as an additional source of funds for Animalcare la … collect the free thrown-away vegetables from the wet market.
Hi Anon, yes, we have thought about doing that – thanks. I think discarded fruit is a better option – gives a nice fragrance too. Pineapple is especially good – strong cleaning power. One trip to the fruit-sellers in the wet market and you can collect enough fruit to make 3-5 tongs!
Yeah, KY, pineapple and citrus skin/pulp not so smelly during fermentation. Yeah, put on the AnimalCare labels and sell everywhere, from markets to shopping malls, even internet. Sell alongside your lovely T-shirts. KY, put Suki's cutest picture on each label la, she will be your mascot and supermodel, yeaaaaaaaaa!!!! Icon of the our suffering. challenged and marginalised domestic strays !!!!
Will certainly consider doing that. I was initially thinking that instead of selling it, we should be encouraging people to do it themselves – that's the whole purpose of recycling your garbage. But I see lots of people buying it from the organic shops, at RM4.50 per 500ml bottle, too. Very pricey!
KY, put your enzyme up for sale at every vet clinic … once a month, arrange for Suki to be at the clinics to put her pawprint (as autograph) on each bottle …. and have her pics taken for a fee …
Yes, KY, promote recycling of garbage saving the environment and (this is far more important) make it a source of income for AnimalCare (cannot depend on donations alone … AnimalCare is new and hence donations are coming in … after some time, things may change as the economic situation changes, so always seize opportunities to increase your source of income in order that you will always have sufficient funds to do what your heart deeply desires to do in order to improve the welfare of strays around us.
Grab the market share now and do it fast … if you don't, someone else will grab it from you … time and tide waits for no man!
Then I will no longer make my own smelly enzyme, KY, I will be one of your faithful customers …. supporting AnimalCare and for the strays!
Thank you for your ideas. Will certainly consider it. Our source of funds, besides donations, is through the sale of our tshirt. Thanks to the support of well-wishers, this is doing pretty well too!
Hi KY. Its very smelly using vegetables to make the enzyme. And I just discovered that the skins of dragon fruits are equally as smelly. Oranges, tangerines and pineapples are best. I use the diluted enzyme to wipe my dogs when we come back from walks and it does keep the ticks and fleas at bay. I also spray on my body and in rooms, its a good mosquito repellant. I know of a place that sells a bottle of 500ml for RM6. I am sure that people are willing to buy if we sell at a cheaper price – we can generate income and at the same time help spread a green idea!
It is always a pleasant surprise to open my blog everyday & see not one BUT a FEW NEW POST on My Animal Care by Sister Chan! Such a delight to have the opportunity on animal rescues she & friends are doing!
Well, the much I wanted to offer help, the more I'm afraid to take the first step. I'm afraid I couldn't commit. There seems dozens of things to be done & get done!
Therefore, I just keep my kind act to my backyard dogs & cats.
Bless you guys out there!
Hi Claydist, thank you. You're already doing your part by taking care of your backyard dogs and cats, which is more than what many people are doing! Keep it up!
I get my supply at RM3.50 for a bottle of 500mls so I don't bother to make. Very good deodoriser for the animal area, personal use, toilet and drain use. Good insect repellant, yes! And non-toxic too.
